The Nigerian government has condemned the recent mutiny by a small fraction of Cote d’Ivoire’s Armed Forces, against the Government.
In a statement posted on the Nigerian Presidency Twitter page, the Nigerian government expressed strong and unflinching support for President Alassane Ouattara, commending him for his ongoing efforts at resolving the crisis.
The statement urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint, remain calm and continue dialogue.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, has warned army officials to stay off politics and politically related activities.
Buratai said this on Tuesday, May 16, in a statement issued by the army spokesperson, Sani Usman, a brigadier general.
