Former Niger Delta militant commanders have commended the Acting President Yemi Osibanjo over the way he has piloted the affairs of the nation since his boss has been out of the country

The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators has described the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo as a quintessential leader whose loyalty to his boss, the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari, is legendary and worthy of emotion by contemporary leaders in Africa.

National President of the group, Eshanekpe Israel Akpodoro, in an email to ZENITHBLOG.com said Acting President since the departure of President Muhammadu Buhari for medical leave abroad, has displayed unalloyed loyalty to his boss.

He said such selfless display of statesmanship devoid of grandstanding was alien to the country’s political system adding that Prof Osinbajo has cushioned the would-have-been effects of the President’s absence by tackling the business of governance head on without any encumbrances.

According to Akpodoro, who is still is in support of Buhari’s government undermining his ill health, Acting President Osinbajo is not taking undue advantage of his boss’ absence to hit up the polity to his advantage as strategy to gain political relevance.

He noted that the business of governance as being carried out by Osinbajo has been a success story as he is carrying out the business with diligence and sense of purpose.

He said Osinbajo’s visit to the Niger Delta yielded bountiful results as against the expectations of those he described as fifth columnists who do not wish the country to come out of the current economic mess.

The Ex-militant leader stated that Nigerians are not oblivious of Osinbajo’s remarkable progress in steering the ship of the state to success, noting that from the moment he cut short his participation at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland to the wake of the president’s trip abroad, he has not faltered in his ability to pilot the affairs of governance.

The group listed the achievements of Osinbajo in the period under review to include the disbursement of N375m for the commencement of the feeding of 677,476 primary school pupils in five states in accordance with the campaign promises of the All Progressives Congress to the Nigerian people.

In the area of security, Akpodoro said the Acting President has successively kick started the machinery for peace in the Niger Delta region by revealing the desire of the federal government to establish modular refineries in the Niger Delta region as strategies to boost the economy of the region.

He also said the Acting President has signed into law seven bills within the short period the president, noting that such step was commendable.

He stressed that were it not for the proactive nature of the professor Osinbajo who sent the name of Justice Walter Onnoghen to the National Assembly for confirmation as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would have made a mountain out of a mole hill.

He called on the people of Niger Delta in particular and Nigeria to pray while awaiting the return of President Buhari and do not relent in their support for the APC administration noting that the current economic reality shall soon be a thing of the past.
