Just in, Two soldiers have been condemned to 10 years' detainment by the General Court Martial of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army, sitting in Maiduguri, Borno State. The officers were blamed for snatching and coercing N1m from a non military personnel.
The Head of the court, Brig. Gen. Olusegun Adesina, while conveying his judgment, said the activity of the errant officers were unlawful and untrustworthy.
He said the couple, who stood preliminary for the kidnapping of one Alhaji Hassan on November 19, 2017, at his living arrangement in the Ruwan Shanfi region of Maiduguri, requested and got N1m subsequent to extorting their casualty as a Boko Haram support.
The warriors supposedly admitted that on the said date, they went to the casualty's home with a Honda vehicle and hauled him out.
They supposedly said they strongly took him to the Railway zone of Maiduguri, where he was debilitated and labeled a Boko Haram support.
The convicts said they hence requested N3m from him.
In any case, the casualty was said to have asked and consented to pay N1m to the warriors, after which he took them to his shop at the Banban line territory where he gave them the concurred entirety.
