News - Photographs: Boko Haram slaughter one, uproot 1,300 in Borno new assaults


The National Emergency Management Agency yesterday affirmed that the Saturday's assaults by Boko Haram on towns in Borno State left one individual dead and 1,300 others uprooted.

The assailants focused on ranchers in the three towns attacked.

"Dala-Malari, Fuguri and Femari all networks in Jere LGA were assaulted by presumed Boko Haram extremists yesterday (Saturday). One individual was killed and around 1,300 individuals are dislodged," Bashir Garga, NEMA North East Zonal Coordinator, said in an announcement yesterday.

He asked inhabitants to be careful and report suspicious developments and people to security operators," saying, "Assaults on easy objectives have turned into the sign of the guerillas because of expanded military clampdown that has reduced their exercises. Compassionate accomplices are being assembled to provide food for the unfortunate casualties as quickly as time permits."

Then, the General Officer Commanding, 7-Division Maiduguri, Brigadier-General Abdumalik Biu, has charged his troops under the Operation Lafiya Dole to stay submitted and unequivocal in their obligations towards consummation rebellion in the upper east.

General Biu gave the charge on Friday while tending to troops of the 7-Division Rapid Deployment Force of Sector-1 experiencing preparing at a military office in Monguno town.
