ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that a family was thrown into mourning after two of their children died in a fire incident because they were locked in by their elder sister.
Two siblings were reportedly burnt to death after a fire broke out in they shared with their sister in Makurdi, Benue state.
According to the Facebook user who shared the story, Akase Jude, the fire may have broken out in the early hours of the morning as the two sisters slept in their room.
He claims their elder sister had locked them inside their house as she went to visit her boyfriend, and the deceased couldn’t make their way out in time to save their lives.

Sharing the sad story on Facebook, Jude wrote:
“CALAMITY BEFELL MY NEIGHBORHOOD AT THE EARLY HOURS OF TODAY. By AKASE JUDE SAATER.
It was 5:30 am when a neighbor came knocking on my door, SAATER! Saater!! Saater!!! I asked mama what happened? She answered, come with me and see some thing.
I followed her to a house where hundreds of people were already standing. What has happened? I was told two girls from the same mother were burnt to death.
How it started: Three girls from the same mother have been staying in the same room. They leave the village to school in Makurdi.
The elderly one often leaves the room in the night to her boyfriend’s house. She always found it difficult to come back into the room quietly as it always take several knocks and time for the younger ones to open the room for her, something she is not at home with.

Fire whose source could not be determined, had burnt the mattress where the two other girls were sleeping. One of them lacked oxygen and died instantly, why the other tried to open the door but couldn’t as the door was locked from outside.

A good neighbor who came quite early, spoiled the door and found the other one dead while the other had little breath and was rushed to the hospital but it was too late already.
Her dead body were returned home immediately without delay and placed side by side to her late sister. The lady returned from her boyfriend’s house close to six O’Clock and met hundreds of people in her house.
A man asked, where did you go? The lady replied what I did not hear but later went in to find her two sisters dead. The boy friend came around and received the beating of his life, the girl whose age cannot be more than 16 by my own assessment told the crowd not to beat the little guy.

The girls school mate visited and it was cry all over. What a tragedy. The girls’ parents arrived later and the dead bodies have since been taken to the village for burial. It is really a mystery how the fire came into the room.”
