A new data has shown that almost North East and North West are the two states with the least percentage of children in school
According to an infographic presented by the Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC), the highest level of illiteracy can be found in northern Nigeria.
Below is the percentage of uneducated children between the age of 6 and 16 in 6 Nigerian regions:
1) North East is the highest with 46 percent
2) North West has 45 percent
3) 10 percent in North central
4) South West has 2 percent
5) Both south-south and south-east has 1 percent each

Meanwhile, the Senate has ordered the federal government and security agencies to avoid the stoppage of full academic activities and closure of the University of Maiduguri because of Boko-Haram insurgency.
Reports have it that Senator Baba Garbai (APC, Borno) expressed concern over the location of the institution which is the center of the protracted Boko-Haram battle.
Although over seventy professors and several students have left the school in the heat of terrorism attacks, the school will continue to stay open and lectures will continue.
