Former presidential aide, Pastor Reno Omokri has said President Muhammadu Buhari cannot take Nigeria out of recession.
Omokri made the comments via his Facebook page during a live feed monitored by ZENITHBLOG.com that lasted for almost 15 minutes.
“Nigeria is in a recession and this is probably the longest recession we have had. We have had three circles of recessions and it is likely to continue for a while,” Omokri said.

Omokri also took a jibe at the present minister of finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun for her recent statement indicating that the federal government has plans to start taxing beggars.
Describing the plan as “ridiculous,” Omokri went on to refer to the fact that the minister graduated from a Polytechnic in London.
“I don’t know how that is going to help the recession. In civilised nations, if you are a beggar, they put you on social security, it’s just silly,” he said.
He continued: “Right now we are in a recession and not much is being done by the Buhari-led administration and you can’t really blame them because it is not a government with a lot of ideas.”
He also took a jibe at the minister for works, power and housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola for saying Jonathan reduced the electricity tariff to get Nigerians to vote for him before the 2015 polls.
He thanked the former boss of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi who immediately rebuffed the minister’s comments.
Omokri said the government of Buhari is built on lies.He said President Muhammadu Buhari de-marketed the country by always running the country down during his foreign trips.
“How do you talk back the investors that you told that all was lost,” he asked rhetorically.
