Nigerian Newspapers on Tuesday, July 12, have focused on the travel of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to London to visit President Buhari amongst other top stories.
The Guardian reports that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday secretly travelled to London in the United Kingdom where he held a meeting with ailing President Muhammadu Buhari.This is coming as the Federal Executive Council (FEC) holds tomorrow. The Acting President presides over the Council.
Details of the unannounced trip were not made known at press time by officials of the presidency.Osinbajo had earlier attended the Presidential Quarterly Business Forum which held in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The venue of the two leaders’ meeting in London was not disclosed, but a tweet by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande on his handle last night indicated that Osinbajo met with President Buhari in London and was expected to return to Abuja immediately.

Vanguard on their part reported that the National Peace Committee headed by former Head of State, Gen. AbdulSalam Abubakar, has chided promoters of division and hate speeches for trying to cause apprehension and trouble in the land.
The committee, which is domiciled under the Matthew Hassan Kukuah Centre, made its position public in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday by its Secretary, Dr. Authur-Martins Aginam.
The committee strongly condemned the rising spate of tensions and agitation for the breakup of Nigeria and warned that it was not in the interest of the country and its people.
It noted in particular that politicians who had failed woefully in delivering service to their citizens had found common ground with promoters of divisions and hate speech to fan the embers of disintegration.

“AgP Osinbajo meeting with President Buhari in London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards,” Akande tweeted.
A Reuters report said that Osinbajo was seen entering Abuja House, the Nigerian High Commission, in the Campden Hill area of the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in West London. He did not make any comment as he entered the building.

Punch also reported that the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday left Nigeria for London, United Kingdom, where he is scheduled to meet ailing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari left the country on May 7 for the British capital where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
He had, in a communication to the two chambers of the National Assembly indicated that only his doctors would decide the duration of his medical trip which is the second one this year.
Our correspondent learnt that Osinbajo travelled to London to see the President shortly after he presided over the Quarterly Presidential Business Forum held at the Presidential Villa.
