N2.1bn money laundering case: Dokpesi claims legal victory as witness rubbishes EFCC’s claim (Infographic)

A witness in the ongoing trial against the ex-chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has told a Federal High Court in Abuja that the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has no record of the N2.1 billion contract awarded to the media boss.

The development was made public via an infographic chart posted on the twitter handle of civic tech group transparencIT NG, @ transparencITng.

Subsequently, the presiding judge ordered that the defendant be allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Dokpesi is accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of laundering N2.1 billion which the commission alleges that he collected from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki.

Justice J. Tsoho adjourned the case till October 18 for further hearing.

Recall that ZENITHBLOG.com previously reported that several Nigerians including Chief Raymond Dokpesi are in courts across the country on corruption charges for amounts going into billions of naira.

Dokpesi, the former chairman of Daar communications, is on trial at the Federal High Court, Maitama Abuja.
