– Yousafzai also met with some schoolgirls in the North-East region that has been ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency

The 2014 Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday, July 18, visited Borno state.

Yousafzai during her visit met with the state governor Kashim Shettima at the Borno state Government House in the state.

She also met with school children in Borno who have been affected by the insurgency raving the North-East region of Nigerian since 2009.

ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that Yousafzai who visited alongside some of her delegates including her father was in the region to attract global attention to the crisis rocking education in the North-East.

It was also gathered that her visit was aimed at bring hope to girls in the region.

The Nobel prize winner also spoke against the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria especially in the North-East.

Yousafzai who had earlier met with some of the freed Chibok schoolgirls said: “This is part of my girl power trip, visiting many parts of the world.”

She added that she visited Nigeria because of the girls.

“I am here now because of the Nigerian girls. Fighting for them and speaking up for them,” Yousafzai said.

She also said warned the terrorists operating in the region their their activities are unacceptable in Islam.

“This is against humanity, this is against Islam,” she said.

ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that Yousafzai and her delegates visited the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo in Aso Rock, Abuja on Monday, July 17.

It was also gathered that the Nobel Prize winner had a closed door session with the Acting President.
