Jidenna Theodore Mobisson is an American artist and recording producer. His name in the Igbo language means “to hug father”. He came into this world on May 4, 1985. Jidenna was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He began to write songs from an early age. Jidenna parents are of different nationalities.

His mother Tama Mobisson is an American. She is an accountant by profession. The father Oliver Mobisson is a Nigerian from the Igbo tribe. He was the professor of computer science at Enugu State University till 1995. Then their family moved from Nigeria to America. Jidenna’s father died in 2010.

Jidenna finished from the Milton Academy in Massachusetts in 2003. He founded a rap group “Black Spadez” there and began to write music. As a final project at the Academy, Jidenna released his first album there.

Then he was admitted into Harvard University. Afterwards, he decided to study at Stanford from 2003 till 2008. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in comparative studies of race and ethics.
