EFCC, ICPC to arraign 3 ex-governors, others in court today, July 4

– The cases of corruption against former public office holders is still on

– 3 ex-governors and a former minister will have their day in court today, Tuesday, July 4

– A former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh is also due for appearance

A report by TransparencIT Nigeria has listed some of the corruption-related court cases coming up today, Tuesday, July 4.

On the list are 3 former governors, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state, Jolly Nyame of Taraba state and Rasheed Ladoja of Oyo state.

Also due for appearance in court today are former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, the former publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh and the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed.

All the cases listed are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission.

Meanwhile, the EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, has lamented that despite the efforts of the commission, the patrons of corruption are plotting how to continue the looting.

His words: “A band of corrupt elites threatened by momentum of the anti-graft war wants to derail the process.

“They are deadly, and without remorse, they plot and scheme to defeat the anti-corruption and take the country back to the dark days when corruption and impunity reigns supreme.”
