The chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, has dismissed the notion that the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was single-handedly responsible for President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the 2015 polls because of votes from the southwest.

Coomassie who told the Daily Times that the claim attributed to Tinubu is grossly inaccurate, said the southwest sat on the fence during the last election as some people voted for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), while others voted for APC during the presidential election.
The ACF chairman, said that although he has not seen where Tinubu made the claim or where the claim was attributed to him, promised that the Pan Northern group will issue a formal statement.
Speaking in the same vein, Alhaji Bello Maitama Yusuf, former internal affairs minister in the second republic, also faulted the idea that President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the 2015 polls was because of votes from the southwest.
Maitama Yusuf pointed out that the votes of Kano state alone was more than what the entire South West gave Buhari.
In another news reports, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to pray for good health and quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The publicity secretary of APC in Ondo state, Abayomi Adesanya, made the call on Monday, May 15, when speaking with journalists, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that the APC spokesman appealed for more patience by Nigerians and urged them to pray for good health of the president.
Adesanya said the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as president was the best thing to have happened in Nigeria at that crucial time.
He said that Nigeria was on the verge of collapse when President Buhari took over from the previous administration led by Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
