The federal government has denied reports that the two million euro ransom was paid for the rescue of 82 Chibok school girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists.
The federal government said, aside the five Boko Haram commanders that were released by federal government, no money was paid in its negotiation deal with the group.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC, the minister of information, culture and tourism Lai Mohammed said the report is false and contrary to what transpired between the federal government and the deadly terrorist group.

“Apart from the five Boko Haram commanders, the exchange of which we have already made public, no other concession was made,” Mohammed said.

“Any other thing to the contrary is absolutely false.
“I emphatically deny on behalf of the federal government that any sum of ransom was paid in exchange of the 82 Chibok girls,” he added.

Earlier, ZENITHBLOG.com reported that 82 out of the over 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists were released in a negotiation deal between the federal government and the group.

The girls who met with their parents in Abuja on Saturday, May 20, were also treated to a thanksgiving service on Sunday, May 21.
