– Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state says Christians should pray for Nigeria
– He says rather than complain and murmur against leaders over the challenges in the nation, he said prayers will reverse the situation in Nigeria
– He explained that the church is the link between God and people in position of authority
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has urged Nigerians to stop apportioning blames about the economic situation of the country but should rather seek the face of God for solutions to the crisis bedeviling the nation.
The governor made the call at the weekend at the Rock of Ages Christian Assembly International Benin City during the concluding programme of the church’s 2017 convention.
Governor Okowa said: “Do not blame President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, governors or those in government for the recession being faced by the country because, your prayers can change anything in this nation, God can deliver this nation through prayers and you should work hard.”

While giving testimonies of how God is changing the situation of things in Delta state from a state which witnessed theatre of battle at the creeks to a state that is peaceful with speedy economic recovery, Governor Okowa emphasized that it is only God that can change the fortunes of the country.

“The church should continue to pray for us as a nation, when things get rough, Christians should not lose hope, they should get on their knees and cry to our Lord, there is no situation that God cannot
He added: “Please, don’t complain, pray continuously because we are sick as a nation and when the nation is sick, it affects all of us but I believe that as we pray, the Lord will hear us, He will heal our land and make us prosper.”
ZENITHBLOG.com reports that Governor Okowa who was accompanied by some of his commissioners to the event, congratulated the church for its successful programme, noting: “There is always something new to learn when one attends church service, if we truly give ourselves to God.”

Earlier in a sermon taken from the life of the biblical King David, Pastor Charles Osazuwa observed that King David made a lasting impact on humanity and became a reference point for generations and urged those in authority to be selfless in rendering service for such to outlive them.
“David worshipped God, he was not ashamed of worshipping God, he was accountable and humility personified,” he said, adding that for those in authority to succeed, they must be ready to give.
The event featured special prayers for the country, Delta and Edo states and those in government while special songs were also rendered to the glory of God.
