– Cultists have shot a policeman during a gun battle
– The Imo state public relation officer, Andrew Enwerem says the suspects were apprehended during the battle
The Imo state police command has arrested 31 students of the state university, Owerri for engaging the police in a gun duel.
According to Andrew Enwerem, the suspects were apprehended during initiation at Orji Comprehensive secondary school in Owerri north local government area of the state.
The Punch reports that the students were suspected cultists.

The alleged cultists are Okafor Anyanwu, Chimezie Nwanezi, Umeh Chimezie, Obiji Obumneke, Ubani Lawrence, Okpara Chimezie, Amouha Ikenna, Njoku Chidi.
Others are also identified as Ajaegbu Gabriel Golden, Alaforo Walter, Akpasuo Chimereijem, Okpara Jude Chijike, Ukachi Samuel, Christus Okerie, and Gaboh Lucky.

He said the suspected cult members would be charged to court at the end of their investigations.

Enwerem said: ”A policeman was shot during the operation.”
Zenithblog.com recalls that a student of Imo State University (IMSU) was shot dead by a suspected cultist who has not been identified.
According to Facebook platform, IfeanyiCy Njoku, who shared the story, the student was gunned down at the IMSU back gate.
Njoku also revealed that the victim who was simply identified as, Jboy, was killed at night on Wednesday, March 30.
