The National Assembly made history on Thursday, May 11, when it released details of its 2017 budget.
This was in fulfillment of a promise made by Senate President Bukola Saraki to stop NASS from operating an opaque budget.
This is the first time Nigeria’s political history that the National Assembly revealed a breakdown of its proposed budget for the year 2017.
In the budget, Senate was allocated N31bn while House of Representatives was allocated N49bn.
