Nigerian army announces commencement for recruitment of new intakes

– The Nigerian Army has announced the zonal screening for its 76th regular recruitment intake for trades/non trades men and women

– The screening initially scheduled to hold from January 22 to 3 February 2017 would now take place from May 27 to June 9

– Candidates selected after the zonal screening exercise will commence training immediately at Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria

The zonal screening for Nigerian army’s 76th regular recruitment intake for trades/non trades men and women would take place from May 27 to June 9.

ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that military made the announcement in a statement issued on Friday, May 19, by its Chief of Administration, Major-General I. M. Alkali.

Army spokesman, Sani Usman, a Brigadier-General, in an earlier statement in January had disclosed that the screening initially scheduled to hold from January 22 to 3 February 2017 had been postponed due to the activities of fraudsters demanding money from applicants.

The zonal screening for Nigerian army’s 76th regular recruitment would take place from May 27 to June 9.

The chief of administration also said that successful candidates from the pre-screening examination are to attend the zonal screening at the designated zonal centres for their respective states.

Alkali in the new statement said: “The Nigerian Army wishes to announce to the general public that 76 Regular Recruits Intake Zonal Screening Exercise earlier

postponed will now hold from 27 May- 9 June 2017.”

“Candidates are advised to come along with a pair of white vest, a pair of blue short, white canvas, white socks, original/photocopy of credentials, four passport photographs, two full size post card photographs and writing materials”.

“Note that candidates selected after the zonal screening exercise will commence training immediately at Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria,” he added.

Earlier, ZENITHBLOG.com reported that troops of 3 Battalion, 22 Brigade Nigerian Army, along with some Civilian JTF embarked on fighting patrol to some villages around Ngala.

In a statement issued on Friday, May 19, the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the patrol team had a fierce encounter with the terrorists at Ndufu before proceeding to clear Muktu and Muzuri, as welll as nearby communities within the area.

Usman said the team was able to neutralize 9 terrorists, rescue 998 people and also vaccinate all children under the age of 5 with Polio vaccinations.
