Kaduna government moves to cut costs, to sell its non-essential residential quarters

The Kaduna state government has extended the sale of government houses to Wednesday, May 31.

According to the government, the move is in order to cut costs expended on maintaining government quarters.

ZENITHBLOG.com gathered that the Kaduna state government decided to sell its non-essential residential quarters as a way to get other soucres of income, amidst declining allocations from the federal government.

Governor El-Rufai is improvising and looking for other sources of income

”The extension of the bid period is to enable interested persons to participate in the process. All interested persons have been given 90 days to complete their bids in accordance with the published guidelines.

”All Bids should be sumbitted no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 31st May, 2017,” a statement from the government said.

Although some government workers had earlier opposed the decision, it appears the Nasir El-Rufai government is keen on selling

the houses.

Meanwhile, six national women leaders of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) lost their lives in an auto accident in Kaduna, on their way back from the inauguration of the church in Kebbi state.

The accident happened along Kajuru junction, Maraba Rido Kachi road in Chikun local government area of the state on Sunday, May 13.
