With a posture that tried to hide the troubles he must have been facing with a Nigerian anti-graft agency, Babangida Aliyu, the former governor of Niger state, appeared in court on Tuesday, May 16.
ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that Aliyu appeared with Umar Nasko, his chief of staff, over allegations of money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They were arraigned for trial at a court in Abuja according to the anti-corruption agency.

The governor was first arraigned on April 25 with his supporters alleging persecution while civil servants in the state cheered the EFCC.

The civil servants had reportedly accused the former governor’s administration of being unable to pay the 7.5 percent increase in their salaries before leaving office.

In April, Sahara Reporters had alleged that the former governor was arrested and detained over a N5 billion scam.
