The federal government has declared that Nigeria’s economy is gradually returning to normal.
A report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes Kemi Adeosun, the country’s finance minister as making the revelation at a town hall meeting.
The meeting which is holding in Abuja was said to be ongoing at the time of this report.

The report quoted Adeosun as saying: “Nigeria is coming out of recession; we are beginning to see the signs and we will come out to become stronger.”

Adeosun said further that the government was working to block wastages, increase GDP and embark on single window project execution.

The former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have continued to trade blames over the country’s situation.

While the PDP claims that the APC rode on propaganda and was not prepared for governance, the latter is accusing the former of mismanaging the economy resulting in the current economic crunch.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measured inflation declined by 0.02 percent in April, the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, said on Tuesday May 16.
The NBS in its new report indicates that the inflation rate, put at 17.24 percent, declined a little further from the 17.26 percent recorded in March.
