Finally! Hospital reacts to alleged killing of pregnant woman

ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that a young mother of two died at a Lagos hospital while trying to be delivered of her third child recently.

The deceased, Chisom Anekwe (nee Okereke), had died from complications of labor, shortly after her child already died inside her.

Her husband however accused the hospital of being responsible for his wife’s death, as they had neglected her even after confirming she needed to have a Cesarean Section to evacuate the dead baby.

The hospital has however expressed sympathy for their patient’s death, while also denying playing a negative part in her unfortunate death.

The hospital located in Magodo, Lagos, said the deceased had developed hypertension and complications led to her death.

They claim they gave her the best care

they could afford to spare, as she had series of gynaecologists and nurses attending to her, because of the nature of her pregnancy.

The hospital claim that their decision not to carry out the CS after discovering the baby was dead, was because they didn’t see the need to further endanger Chisom’s health.

They also denied the allegation that the doctor sneaked out of the hospital. They claim the doctor in question had even been assaulted by the deceased’s husband when he tried to help.

The deceased has since been buried.
