– Shekarau said the governor’s political achievement is worthy of emulation
Ibrahim Shekarau, the former governor of Kano state has said Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state is a living legend worthy of being emulated by other political leaders.
The Chief Press Secretary to Fayose, Idowu Adelusi, said Shekarau made this statement during a visit to Ado-Ekiti.
Shekarau who also lauded the governor’s political achievements, said he was overwhelmed by the relationship between Fayose and the people of Ekiti state, Daily Post reports.
He urged Nigerian leaders to emulate Fayose in their dealings with the masses and their needs.
Shekarau urged other political leaders to emulate Fayose.

He said: “I am not surprised by the great performance of Governor Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti State.
“We were governors at the same time in 2003, though we were in different political parties, he did wonderfully well then too.
“I am impressed by the projects being executed by the governor despite the recession in the country and the small statutory allocations coming to the state.”

He said: “This is my first visit to Ekiti state and I have heard a lot about Governor Ayodele Fayose.
“I am really happy that the governor is a living legend, whose love for the people of the state is duly reciprocated by the people who are showing their love for him too.”
Meanwhile, Fayose has suspended four top government officials over allegation of misuse of public utilities, saying that such act has become a drain of public resources.
The governor therefore ordered the immediate suspension of four government officials and the setting up of a panel to look into their activities and the way they manage government utilities in their care.
