The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), has accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of bias against Christians.

Rising from an emergency meeting in Abuja, on Monday, May 15, YOWICAN claimed that the Buhari-led federal government was executing Islamic agenda.

A statement by the group’s national president, Daniel Kadzai, pointed out that the removal of Christian religious studies from primary/secondary schools, especially in the north and the alleged unequal treatment meted out to Christians in the north showed that the current government was out to kill the Christian religion.

CAN youths say the Federal government has an Islamic Agenda

The statement reads: “The worse form of social injustice, terrorism and religious bias is to deny Christian children their right.

“Children have been denied their rights to practice their religion.

“This injustice is done, despite the role of Christian Religious Studies in

helping to shape the moral character and integrity of our children as future leaders.

“Perhaps, it is in furtherance to its Islamic agenda that the APC government appointed the likes of Prof. Ishaq Oluyede, a known Islamist.

“Oluyede who has never hidden his bias and prejudice against Christians, is to head a most relevant educational institution like the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

“Despite the denial that the government is not slipping Nigeria into an Islamic country as evident from previous antecedents, Nigeria’s participation at the Islamic solidarity sports federation speaks volumes and confirms the obvious.”

Meanwhile, the Christians Association of Nigerian (CAN), Niger state branch organised a special prayer session for the recovery of President Buhari.

According to the Niger state branch of CAN, “we are all one family regardless of our religious ideologies.”

In a similar vein, clergymen have drummed support for Apostle Suleman, over his alleged affair with musician, Stephanie Otobo.
