OFFICIAL: Why Osinbajo canceled visit to Ondo – Presidency

The Presidency has officially confirmed that acting president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo canceled a visit to Ondo state in Southwest Nigeria on Friday, February 17.

In series of tweets on its official Twitter handle, the presidency said the visit was rescheduled because of bad weather as earlier reported.

Recall that the acting president’s aircraft on Friday, hovered for several minutes over the Akure airspace and was unable to land.

It was

also reported that the acting president communicated the cancellation to Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State after waiting for several hours at the Presidential lounge in Abuja with the bad weather not abating.

The Presidency has now confirmed what really happened and also revealed the new date for the scheduled meeting.
