On Thursday, February 16, some Nigerian students stormed the National Human Rights Commission in Kano state.
The group protested the prolonged detention of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shiites Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
The group also protested the detention of some students who were arrested by security operatives and remanded in Kano Prison.

El-Zakzaky was arrested on December 5, 2015, after a clash between troops attached to the convoy of the chief of army staff and members of the Shiite group.
He has since been in detention with his wife Zainab.
