ThisDay reports that the order was issued by Justice S.M Shuaibu on Friday, February 24.

The order followed an ex parte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that discovered the vehicles seeking their forfeiture to the Nigerian government while investigations are carried out and the case determined in court.

Justice Shuaibu ruled that: “The seventeen (17) vehicles which are now in the custody of the applicant (EFCC) and as properly described and listed in the schedule marked exhibit EFCC 2 attached to the affidavit in support of the application are hereby forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria in the interim pending conclusion of the investigation.”

Recall that EFCC officials had on Monday, February 20 stormed the warehouse of the former Customs boss on Nnamdi Azikwe Street in Kaduna and discovered 17 exotic vehicles worth hundreds of millions of naira, which the anti-corruption agency says it suspected to be proceeds of crime.
