President Muhammadu Buhari has called Nigeria to condole with former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Adamu Fika over the death of his wife Hajiya Tasallah Fika.

President Buhari has called in from London to commiserate with Dr Fika over the loss of his wife

Presidential media aide Garba Shehu confirmed the call in a brief statement on Tuesday, February 14 morning.

Shehu said the president was saddened by Fika’s loss of a devoted and strong wife after years of being together.

The statement read:

“President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his sadness over the death of Hajiya Tasallah Fika, the wife of former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Adamu Fika, Wazirin Fika.

“In a telephone call from London to the bereaved Wazirin, the President said the loss of such a devoted wife of many years was particularly a painful and challenging moment in the life of any

husband.

“President Buhari explained that as a family man himself, he understood the depth of pain Dr. Fika was going through at this time “having lost a great and invaluable companion of many years and that the deceased was one of the most devoted wives who was the pride of the nuclear family.

“While praying to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in peace, the President also wished Dr. Fika the fortitude to bear this enormous loss.”

Meanwhile, the presidency has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari may call to speak with Nigerians on the phone soon after almost four weeks of vacation in the United Kingdom.

This was hinted by special adviser to the president on media and publicity Femi Adesina during a live appearance on a political show on Channels television late on Monday, February 13.
