Top Army commander visits wounded soldiers in Maiduguri hospital, assures them of proper medical care

The Nigerian Army has assured soldiers fighting insurgency in the north-east of adequate medical care and support.

This was made known by the acting corps commander medical of the Nigerian Army Clifford Wanda on Tuesday, August 8.

Wanda, a brigadier general while visiting some of the wounded soldiers of Operation Lafiya Dole at the 7 Divison Medical Services and Hospital (DMSH) in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri commended the soldiers for their bravery.

Wanda, accompanied by some other senior military officers of the medical corps also made a tour of the facility in the 7 Division Hospital.

He said his visit was aimed at familiarizing and ascertaining the performance of the medical personnel and equipment deployed to the region.

In a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Kingsley Samuel, the deputy director army public relations headquarters 7 Division said Wanda extolled the leadership of the

division.

He also called for the support of the acting general commander of the 7 Division Ibrahim Yusuf in the fight against Boko Haram.

He promised to look into the challenges confronting the Hospital with a view to finding solutions to them.

Also speaking, the acting commander 7 DMSH, Lieutenant Colonel Ndidi Onuchukwu thanked Wanda for the visit.

Onuchukwu also congratulated him on his recent appointment as the acting CCM of the Nigerian Army and briefed him on the activities of the Hospital.

ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that that President Muhammadu Buhari visited a top military officer receiving treatment in a Berlin hospital.

President Buhari while visiting the officer MSA Aliyu, a brigadier general also congratulated him for his recuperation.

Aliyu who was said to have survived a ghastly motor accident in March 2016, also expressed gratitude to the president.

He said his spirit was lifted by the visit.
