The Nigerian Army on Wednesday, August 16, began a human rights workshop in Monguno community of Borno state.
A statement signed the deputy director of Nigerian Army public relations, 8 Task Force Division Timothy Antigha said the workshop was organized by the Army’s department of civil military affairs.
Antigha said the workshop is also expected to deepen troops understanding and appreciation of human rights issues.

However, declaring the workshop open the chief civil military affairs Nuhu Angbazo, a major general said the Nigerian Army is currently experiencing a fourth dimension warfare of assymetric nature with the enemy.
He said the Army therefore needs to work more closely with the civil populace in order to understand, identify, engage and defeat the enemy.

Also speaking at the opening, the general officer commanding 8 Task Force Division, Brigadier General Stevenson Olabanji commended Angbazo for the timely initiative.
Olabanji said the commander at the Division would use the knowledge acquired to fashion out professional approaches to their military duties, in conformity with the vision with the chief of army staff.
He said this approaches include to, “have a Professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of it’s constitutional roles.”

ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that Nigerian Army in furtherance of its operation against Boko Haram launched an ambush which led to the death of 10 terrorists.
The attack, Antigha said took place in Maza village in Marte, Borno state.
It was gathered that the terrorists fell into the ambush and 10 of them were neutralized while their bicycles were recovered by the military troops.
