Asabe Bashir, a member of the House of Representatives, has applauded the federal government over the release of another Chibok girl, Rakiya Abubakar, from Boko Haram captivity.
Bashir, in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, January 9, said that the development showed that government was committed toward the release of the remaining Chibok school girls.
The lawmaker, who represents Chibok Federal Constituency, advised parents of the remaining girls to keep hope alive and believe that their children would reunite with them someday.
Lawmaker expressed optimism about release of other girls, adding that government was not relenting on its effort to ensure their release.

Rakiya Abubakar and her baby were rescued by troops of 27 Brigade of the Nigerian Army around Alagarno near Ajigin in Damboa local government area of Borno state.
Rakiya makes the 29th Chibok girl rescued out of the more than 200 girls abducted by Islamist Boko Haram fighters in April 2014 while preparing for their secondary school examinations.
In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari has promised that his administration is committed to the return of the Chibok girls who were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists.
President Buhari spoke on Sunday, January 8 which marks the 1000th day of the abduction of the girls from their school, Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State.
