In July 2011 the constitutional court of Colombia ordered the Colombian Congress to adopt the legal framework on lesbian and gay families for 2 years. If before June 20, 2013 this was not accepted by relevant legislation, this time gay women and young gay boys in this country automatically have the right to marry. Up to this day, courts have already issued a set of marriage licenses for about 30 gay people. However, the status of being considered as spouses remained controversial because of the legal inconsistencies in the legislation of the country.

• Costa Rica

In July 2013, the Legislative Assembly (Parliament) of the country accidentally voted for the amendment to the law about youth. If earlier Family code for civil marriages of Costa Ricans aged 15 to 35 years old just told about marriage between men and women, now it includes the words: “the right to recognition without discrimination of human dignity”. These words have legalized gay marriages. De jure it is quite possible to have gay marriage in Costa Rica, but de facto authorities ban such gay relationship, based on the fact that almost 73% of residents of Costa Rica do not support the idea of gay marriage. So in September 2013, the family court in San Jose rejected the claim of homosexual couple living together for 6 years. Men wanted to recognize their relationship as “official marriage”, but the judge denied.

Mexico states

Judge of the Supreme court of Mexico Olga Sanchez demanded to legalize gay couple marriages in that States of Mexico where such relationship is still illegal.
