NYSC develops new method for monitoring corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) foon Monday, February 27, said it has developed a new strategy or monitoring corps members.

Daily sun reports that the new strategy will now be used to effectively monitor corps members in their places of primary assignment.

Speaking on the new development, the public relations officer of NYSC in Oyo state Simeon Bankole said the director general of the corps Sule Kazaure would address officers in the scheme of the new approach on Thursday, March 2 at a workshop.

He said Kazaure will chair the opening of the workshop and speak on the theme: “Enshrining Transparency in Corps Monitoring and Participation in Community Development Services Using ICT.”

He said all the zonal and local government inspectors of the scheme in the South-west geo-political zone of the country are expected to attend the workshop which was organised to re-position the scheme for optimal performance.

The strategy will also enhance the inspection of corps members and empower field officers in all the states across Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.

The field officers are expected to be trained on how they would deploy Information and Communication Technology in achieving error-free attendance and clearance system.
