Presidency has warned Nigerians to beware of fake news circulating about President buhari’s health status and real age.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in the United Kingdom, recently wrote to the Senate demanding for an indefinite extension of his 10-day vacation which started on January 19 due to medical issues which wasn’t revealed in the letter.

There have been several speculations about the health status of President Buhari and his continuous stay in London.

Sahara Reporters, on Sunday, February 25, reported that unnamed sources said President Buhari’s is suffering from severe stomach infection and prostate ailments. They also reported that the president’s treatments had been compounded by his age, which his UK doctors allegedly believe to be more than 80 rather than his official “age” of 74 years old.

ZENITHBLOG.com tried calling President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, but he was unreachable and a text message sent to him to confirm Sahara reporters report is yet to be replied as at the time of this report.

However, when contacted by ZENITHBLOG.com, President Buhari’s media aide on digital communication, Tolu Ogunlesi, said that while he is in no position to comment on such issues, he believes the news is fake and cannot be substantiated.

Meanwhile, Tolu Ogunlesi declined to speak on if he received any calls from President Muhammadu Buhari who has been away for 40 days.

In an interview with Zenithblog.com at the ongoing Social Media Week Lagos, the media aide speaks on improving engagement with citizens on social media.
