Suspected assassins murder 41 year old banker in Delta

Tragedy struck at Ekete Waterside of Udu council area of Delta state as a 41 year old banker, Tunde Ayodeji Kolawole, was murdered in cold blood by yet to be identified suspected assassins.

The incident, it was gathered occurred near his house at Jenny School road on his way home from a private meeting.

Kolawole, a native of Kwara state was killed through severe death blows of dagger wounds to his neck, back and ribs.

Until his death, the victim was the Customers Service Manager of Ecobank, Effurun 7Up branch in Delta state, he is survived by three young kids, a wife and an aged mother.

A family source said late Kolawole was called for a private meeting by a church leader.

At about 7pm yesterday, my brother got a call from a church elder to a private meeting. Later at about 9pm when I was returning to the house someone told me that someone was killed in the street.

“So I called my brother on phone, his phone rang but another person picked the call and said that the owner

of the phone is dead and warned that I should not call the number again.

“So I rushed home and I was told that his body was taken to Ovwian/Aladja police station. We rushed there to identify his corpse before police deposited it in the morgue.”

Another relative who corroborated the report added that he suspected assassination plot because only the late Kolawole Samsun galaxy phone that was taken away but the money in his pockets were intact.

Contacted on phone, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State opted that a text be sent as he was in a meeting, but later confirmed the incident and that investigation was ongoing.
