Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson described the wife of Nigeria’s late former Head of State, Mrs Mariam Abacha as a courageous, peaceful and loving woman.

Governor Dickson stated this in a congratulatory message to Mrs Abacha, who turned 70 on Saturday, March 4.
He recalled with satisfaction, the events that led to the eventual creation of Bayelsa state, which her late husband, General Sani Abacha presided over, adding that, the government and people of Bayelsa state will remain eternally grateful to the Abacha family for that singular act of love and concern for Bayelsans and the Ijaw Nation in general.

Governor Dickson prayed God to grant her sound health, long life and a happier future with the rest of the Abacha family.
The late Abacha granted Bayelsans request for a state on October 1, 1966 and has since been hailed by many of the state’s prominent sons and daughter.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan who is from Bayelsa state, once described the late Abacha as a hero.
