Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has assured the people of the state that he will take all steps to curtail the crisis in Southern Kaduna, adding that no amount of blackmail can stop him from doing so.
According to El-Rufai, he cannot be intimidated by anyone, Leadership reports.

The governor made this known on Thursday, March 30, when he met with religious leaders drown from Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasirul Islam (JNI) in the twenty three local government areas of the state on the need to preach peaceful coexistence in the state.
Speaking during the Quarterly Committee meeting on Inter-Religious Harmony held at state House, Kaduna, El-Rufai said that he would continue to fight those behind the evil forces against the peace of the state
However, he called on the people of goodwill to join hands with him to tackle the issues leading to conflicts

He said: ”Evil is evil and it can be committed by anybody whether the person is a Muslim or christian,A Hausa or Bajju person, A Fulani or Atyab person.
“Some people are manipulating the crisis for personal and political reasons best known to them but one thing I can tell you today is that those behind this evil will not and will never succeed. We will continue to work together for peace in Southern Kaduna. Some are spreading fake stories in the media to suit their narratives and paint me and my government in the bad light, no amount of blackmail will stop me from working very hard to curtail the Southern Kaduna crisis
“Our doors are open for advice, criticism and continue consultation for peaceful coexistence in Kaduna state.”
Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com has reported that in a fresh development, the Nigerian Army has said troops killed two people in Southern Kaduna but did not state if they were herdsmen.
Kingsley Umoh, deputy director, army public relations of 1 division, made the admission.
However, Umoh dismissed the report that 17 herdsmen were killed by soldiers, saying it was unfounded and irresponsible and people should stay away from fabricated reports.
