The Ogun state command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it has recorded a sum of N906, 684, 498.26 as revenue collected in the first two months of the year 2017.
The command also called on traditional leaders to support its anti-smuggling activities
The amount was made in just January and February, according to a statement from the organization.

The command also said it recorded 344 seizures with duty paid value of N219, 813, 485.00 from January 1 to March 26, 2017.
The command also displayed some bags of rice recovered from smugglers during the period under review
The customs area controller in charge of Ogun, Compt Hassan Gangua, said despite the daunting economic challenges, the command has performed impressively in the revenue generation and anti-smuggling campaign.
Gangua also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders and distinguished personalities in the state to join in the campaign against smuggling for the economic well-being of the country.

ZENITHBLOG.com reports that the command made the amount for the federal government at a time its comptroller-general, Hameed Ali is having a battle with the Nigerian Senate over his refusal to wear the uniform of the agency.
