Activities have been disrupted at the Ebonyi state Government House due to a fire outbreak on Friday, March 31.

Fortunately, no life was lost during the incident.

Also, the senior assistant to the Ebonyi state governor David Umahi on internal security told journalist that it took the energized effort of staff of the Government House and the State’s Fire Service to put out the fire.
Kenneth Ugbala said the fire outbreak was caused by a faulty electrical connection in the accounts section.
He said: “The fire outbreak was caused by a faulty electrical connection within the accounts section and the level of damage was minimal.”

“An upholstery and cottons within the section were completely burnt and we would ascertain the true extent of damage when the fire service concludes its task,’’ Ugbala said.
Also speaking on the incident, the state’s chief fire officer James Owoh said officers of the Fire Service responded promptly to the emergency in the House.
Owoh said: “We have always been responsive to distress calls and Government House officials acknowledged that the situation was promptly put under control.”
