Nigerian senators now like school children begging their mates for snacks – Buhari’s aide mocks

– The Nigerian Senate suspended its former leader, Ali Ndume, for having the guts to call for the investigation of Bukola Saraki and Dino Melaye

– Lauretta Onochie is asking Nigerians to come out against the lawmakers of the upper chamber as they battle the executive arm of government led by Buhari

The personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, on Wednesday, March 29 washed down the Nigerian Senate equating the lawmakers at the upper chamber with children begging their mates for snacks.

Nigerian senators like acting like school children - Onochie

Onochie urges Nigerians to come out against the Senate for its recent disgraceful outing

“Why is the Nigerian Senate acting like a bunch of errant school children in a playground?

“…For Not giving me a piece of your snacks, you can’t play with us. Bullying and intimidation! Many of us remember this from our primary school days. It’s back in our Senate!” Onochie said.

ZENITHBLOG.com reports that while Onochie poured out her heart against the alleged disgraceful outing of the Senate in the last few days, the lawmakers were busy with a motion to suspend Ali Ndume, the former leader who called for the investigation of Bukola Saraki for alleged car purchase scandal and Dino Melaye for alleged certificate scandal.

Ndume later got a six-month suspension.

The senators have been fighting the executive arm led by Buhari over different issues including the call for the removal of Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

As a result of this, the senators, on Tuesday, March 28, dumped the list of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) sent to them for clearance.

“I’m not afraid of being criticised So I will continue to voice MY opinion on issues in MY nation that I find detrimental to the well-being of all Nigerians,” she said.

“At best, the Nigerian Senate has turned itself into a trade union of some sort. Not a patriotic trade union that cares and fights for the well-being of the citizens, but a blackmailing self-serving trade union that works with blackmail!

“But there are many patriotic and people-oriented senators in that chamber. Where are they? Why are they silent? Why are they succumbing to the bullying antics of a few clowns who are being manipulated by the head Cabal? Yes, the Cabal!

“What are the patriotic senators doing to let Nigerians know that they are not part of the unholy and demonic alliance of the awaiting trial cabal? How can they sit pretty, and allow those who are either under criminal investigations or are awaiting trials to be the ones deciding the fate of Nigerians?” She queried.

Onochie called on Nigerians to brace up to fight the Senate and make the lawmakers begin to do the right things.

“Unless the good elements in the Senate begin to speak up and dissociate themselves from the cabal, Nigerians will think and believe they are all the same.

“President Buhari has the right to choose who should serve Nigerians. It’s within his constitutional rights. Arm twisting and blackmail will not succeed over patriotic considerations.

“They have forgotten their principal role of lawmaking. Where are the two bills President Buhari sent to the Senate in January of 2016?” She lamented while asking about the status of the 2017 budget currently before the Senate.

She further noted that the money laundering prevention and prohibition bill 2016 and the criminal matters bill 2016 had been before the National Assembly since January 2016 and that the bills were only read once.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have continued to decry the state of the economy. Watch this video:
