– Acting President Yemi Osibanjo will be visiting Akwa Ibom state on Thursday
– The visit is in continuation of the Niger Delta peace talk which commenced with Delta state
– Osibanjo will hold meetings with the traditional rulers and leaders in the state
In continuation of his visit to the Niger delta region, Acting President Yemi Osibanjo has been scheduled to storm Akwa Ibom state on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
The visit to Akwa Ibom state will be the third state the Acting President has visited in the Niger Delta.
He started the visit with Delta through to Bayelsa and now to Akwa Ibom state. The visit is part of the peace initiative in the volatile region.
A statement from the state commissioner for information and strategy, Charles Udoh, said the Acting President will inspect ongoing construction of the second runway of the Akwa Ibom International airport on arrival.

Daily post reports that the Acting President will pay a courtesy visit to royal fathers in the state traditional rulers council.
Thereafter, Osinbajo will address a townhall meeting with members of the state elders council, royal fathers, representatives of the oil producing host communities, socio-cultural organisations, women leaders, and representatives of youths in the state.
