Senator Dino Melaye may have to continue with his efforts to prove to Nigerians that he is indeed a graduate and that the certificate scandal that has rocked his political career in recent times may just be a lie.
Melaye has been enveloped in a major certificate scandal
This is as new documents have been released to show that the senator representing Kogi West may have lied that he actually graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state.
The new documents were released by Omoyele Sowore hours after the vice chancellor of the university, Prof Ibrahim Garba, told a Senate committee investigating the alleged falsification of results against Melaye that the latter actually graduated.

“These documents outed ABU VC Prof Ibrahim Garba, he couldn’t manipulate them, so he opted for ‘available records’.
“The documents released by the exam officers of the Geography department at ABU shows Mr Daniel ‘Dino’ Jonah Melaye couldn’t have graduated –‘GEOG 307’ Long Field Trip is a compulsory course at the department. Melaye never passed ‘GEOG 307’ according to these official records.

“First, the course was carried over to the 4th year, and then it disappeared from his grades.
“Dino and his HOD manipulated and fraudulently added 2 units towards the “Total Earned Course Units (TECU) in his 4th year,” Sowore said.
ZENITHBLOG.com had earlier reported that Melaye on Monday, March 27, appeared before the Senate committee on ethics and privileges over allegations that he did not graduate from the Ahamdu Bello University, Zaria.

Melaye appeared before the committee alongside the vice chancellor of the university Ibrahim Garba to the defend the ongoing certificate forgery scandal against him. At the hearing, Melaye admitted under oath that he graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University.
