The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused south-east governors of frustrating the release of their leader Nnamdi Kanu.

A zonal coordinator of IPOB, Emeka Mbamarah, who made the allegation in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, said the south-east governors had been sabotaging their agitation, Vanguard reports.
Mbamarah however, maintained that the youths would continue with the Biafra struggle until Nnamdi Kanu is released.
He said despite the non-interest of the governors in securing Kanu’s release, the IPOB leader would “surely come out with Biafra flag”.
But reacting to the allegation, the south-east governors’ have described the allegations as unsubstantiated.

The chairman of south-east governors’ forum, Governor David Umahi, who spoke through his press secretary, Emma Anya, said that the forum cannot comment on any unsubstantiated allegation.
Meanwhile, Eze Israel Kanu, the father of the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has alleged that Chief Ralph Uwazuruike is behind the continued detention of his son.
According to Vanguard, Eze Israel Kanu, made the accusation over the weekend, when speaking with journalists in his Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia Palace on the sideline of the traditional marriage of his last daughter, Princess Chinwe Kanu.
The monarch said Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, who is the founder and factional leader of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), orchestrated Nnamdi Kanu’s detention after the IPOB leader exposed Uwazuruike for allegedly defrauding Biafran youths of huge sums of money.
