According to Vanguard, Eze Israel Kanu made the accusation over the weekend, when speaking with journalists in his Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia Palace on the sideline of the traditional marriage of his last daughter, Princess Chinwe Kanu.
The monarch said Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, who is the founder and factional leader of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), orchestrated Nnamdi Kanu’s detention after the IPOB leader exposed Uwazuruike for allegedly defrauding Biafran youths of huge sums of money.
He insisted that his son never committed any crime in the country and urged the federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu.
Eze Israel Kanu said he recently returned from a medical trip to Germany.

He explained that the continued incarceration of his son had contributed to his worsening health condition in the past one year.
Meanwhile, the IPOB has accused the British government of middling with Nigeria’s affairs.
The IPOB also said the British government is using the minister of foreign affairs Geoffrey Onyeama to interfere with the agitation for the freedom of Biafra by the group.
A statement signed by the group’s spokesperson Clifford Iroanya said: “In their usual cunning way, the British Government who are the creator-and-god of Nigeria have spoken through Mr. Geoffrey Jideofo Kwusike Onyeama who parades himself as Nigeria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.”
The groups allegation against Britain comes on the heels of a reaction by Onyeama over reports by Amnesty International in favour of IPOB.
