Tales from the Nigerian Civil war which ended exactly 50 years ago seems never-ending.

While some who witnessed or participated in the war have maintained silence after the unfortunate incident, some others are always willing to tell their own side of the story.

ZENITHBLOG.com caught up with one of such people. 73-year old Pa Johnbull Nwosu who fought for the Biafarn Army during the war.

Now retired Pa Nwosu spends most of the time reading

Pa Nwosu said his motivation for joining the Biafran soldiers was seeing justice is done to Igbo civilians and soldiers who faced injustice in the North few months before the war.

“We were having influx of men, women and children who were hurt by the northerners, so everyone had that anger,’’ Pa Nwosu told ZENITHBLOG.com.

He went on: “At that age (early twenties), I could not live to see someone coming here to me and my people.’’

Pa Nwosu says the Biafran war was the will of God

Asked if he regret that the war happened, Pa Nwosu replied with an emphatic no. According to him, the war was the will of God.

His words: “I do not regret that the war happened because everything happens by the will of God and you don’t question God.

“There were some people among us against the war, but majority of us wanted the war to happen.’’
