The motion was sponsored by Honourable Oghene Emma Egoh, representing Amuwo Odofin Federal constituency.

Egoh, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member stressed on the need for dependent relatives of over 3000 police personnel who died in active service to be paid their entitlements.
On his part, deputy minority leader, Honourable Chukwuka Onyema said: “It’s sad that people work and die for our country and their entitlements are not given to their families.”
The Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara put the motion to a vote and it was adopted.
The House also mandated the committee on police affairs to ensure implementation and report back to the House within 4 weeks for further legislative action.

Meanwhile, the House of Reps is set to investigate the missing N500 million budgeted fund for reconstruction of Chibok Secondary School.
The lower house yesterday, January 17 considered a motion on a call for an investigation of the N500 million budgeted fund for reconstruction of the Girls Secondary School, Chibok which was razed down by terrorists in 2014.
