Omokri shows Jonathan didn’t create controversial FRC policy

Reno Omokri has shown evidence to prove that Jonathan did not create controversial FRC policy that forced out Pastor Adeboye.

According to Omokri, an ex-aide on new media to Jonathan, although Jonathan created the law to guide activities of bodies like NGOs and religious bodies, the exact policy that has caused furore in the country for some days was just imputed by the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

As evidence, Omokri provided a snapshot of the controversial policy with a highlight showing that the law appeared to have been amended with the new policy to take effect from October 17, 2016, well over a year since Jonathan left office.

class="align-left">Recall that Pastor Adeboye announced his retirement as the head of the Nigerian arm of the RCCG because the policy stated that religious leaders who had been in a position for 20 years or had attained the age of 70 years must retire from such post.

The policy caused some dispute among members of President Buhari’s cabinet as some officials wanted the policy to be properly reviewed while others felt it should be enforced immediately.

President Buhari however acted swiftly late on Monday, January 9, sacking the FRC boss Obazee and suspending the implementation of the controversial policy.

Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a senior pastor at the RCCG.
