A couple of eyewitnesses have narrated how the Boko Haram bomb attack on University Maiduguri occurred on Monday, January 16.
Eyewitnesses have narrated some additional details about UNIMAID bombing.
In series of chats with the Voice of America, the eyewitnesses said the attackers that came to the mosque were two in number and one of them was a mature man while the second was the 7-year-old kid that detonated his device and killed Professor Mani.

An eyewitness called Danna Ahmed Goni said: “We were close to the Mosque when the blast occurred. Thereafter we rushed to check and found out that one of their professors, Mani was one of those who died.”
Another eyewitness, Grema Jibril Musa said: “One of the suicide bombers was a matured man. They were two in number. It was one of them who entered the Mosque to blow up the bomb.”

The chairman of state emergency management agency Ahmed Satomi said: “The military and the Civilian JTF are in charge.”
Civilian JTF Commander added Abba Aji Kalli: “Peace in Maiduguri, Borno will be maintained, with support of all and sundry.”
Meanwhile, the chilling audio message released by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau claiming responsibility for the Monday, January 16 bomb attack on a mosque in the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has been dismissed with a wave of the hand by students of the institution.
