Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA on Tuesday spoke against the Boko Haram insurgents, insisting that those who shout “Allahu Akbar” before going on killing spree will end up in hell.

He said: “When people wake up and dress themselves up with explosives going into market and other public places and shouting Allahu Akabar and killing innocent people under the guise of jihad, thinking you are going straight to heaven.

“I have said it time without number that they could profess to be Muslims but what they are doing is anti-Islam. It is against the Holy Quran dictates of Almighty Allah and they are going to hell for committing murder unjustly.”

Going further, the monarch criticized Nigerian politicians for the escalation of the killings going in Kaduna state.

According to him, their poor handling intensified the problem.

“We have been working hard to see how we can stop the menace of herdsmen.”

He however blamed the nation’s security operatives for their inability to contain their menace.

“I don’t want to say Fulani herdsmen. They could be any other thing.

“How could Fulani who move with their cows and family come to a village, kill people, destroy everything there and disappear into thin air like spirit?

“What are our‎ security men doing? Where are our intelligence gathering?” he added.

‎”This cannot be allowed to go on,” he said. “Government has responsibilities to call people to order in such a straightforward way that people will understand that there is authority.

“We have been having this problem because of impunity in Nigeria. People do things and go scot-free in Nigeria.

“People commit murders and they are pardoned. Even when courts pronounce them to be sentenced to death they are later released and they are walking amongst us. It means crimes pay,” he said.
