President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting following the accidental bombing of IDP camp in Borno leading to the death of more than 100 refugees.
The tragic incident happened at the Rann IDP camp is located in Kala-balge local government area and it caters for thousands of persons displaced by Boko Haram.

Some aid workers from the Red Cross and were also affected by the accidental bombing.
More than 120 people were also injured from the blast with the Borno state government asking hospitals in Maiduguri to be ready to provide treatment.
In reaction, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed sadness at the tragic incident while also cancelling meeting with cabinet members on Wednesday, January 18.
The president also sent a team involving service chiefs and the minister of information, Lai Mohammaed to Borno to commiserate with the families of the bereaved.
The First Lady, Aisha Buhari also expressed sad over the tragic incident.
In a statement issued by Adebisi Olumide-Ajayi who is the special assistant to Aisha Buhari on media, she said the first lady noted that she has shared moments with the IDPs and prayed that God give the families of the bereaved the fortitude to bear their losses.

“Being deeply involved with the IDP’s and having shared both sad and happy moments with them through her NGO. Future Assured, Mrs. Buhari feels really pained by this unfortunate incident.”
According to ABC News, 46 severely injured refugees remain in the IDP camp.
The Red Cross expressed shock at the civilian death and called for an urgent evacuation, saying that “patients are attended to in an open-air space in a precarious environment”
